Small businesses are the heart of the market-based economy with their business operations in rural and urban areas of developed and developing countries. In ——, small business enterprises are playing a significant role by contributing to the production and services, employmnet and thereby to GDP. But these are found to face servere competition and different types of constraints.
Obstacles to growth include enterpreneurship development and growth,francising small business, lack of educated and skilled human resources, frequent cyclones and floods, inefficient state-owned enterprises, mismanaged port facilities, a growth in the labour force that has outpaced jobs, inefficient use of energy resources (such as natural gas), insufficient power supplies, slow implementation of economic reforms, political infighting and corruption. According to the World Bank, “among ——’s most significant obstacles to growth are poor governance and weak public institutions.” Despite these hurdles, the country has achieved an average annual growth rate of 5% since 1990, according to the World Bank.
This report is divided into five sections. Section one will discuss about the definition, nature and scope of Small Business. In section two we will get the opinion of some entrepreneurs according to our questionnaire. Section three will deal about some common problems that our Small Business firms face, according to the answers of previous section, which will be followed by some suggestions from our group in——-
